Viewing Messages in the Scrolling Roster

Viewing Messages in the Scrolling Roster

Within Smart Web, a scrolling roster of people and functions that have messages can be viewed. The profile’s current status is also displayed. The roster can also be printed to show a snapshot of the data at a certain time.

The scrolling roster can be configured to include a certain set of users, such as those with active messages, users with a pageable status, or users who have an active on-call assignment. Please verify with your system administrator the type of users that are included in the scrolling roster.

Note that if the COG (Controlling Operator Group) selection feature is being used, the records that display in the screen are first filtered by COG. Any other filters are applied to the records in the selected COG. For more information about the COG selection feature, please refer to Using the COG Selection Feature.

Pausing and Refreshing the Screen

The scrolling roster can be paused at any point to stop the scrolling by clicking the Pause button, then re-clicking the button to re-start the scrolling. The screen can also be refreshed automatically after the default number of seconds, or by clicking the Refresh button at any time.

Sorting and Filtering the Records

The records included in the scrolling roster can be sorted by the number of messages (least to most), profile name, and by status, using the Sort By links at the top of the screen. The records can also be filtered by status so that only the records of the selected status type are displayed. The status options that can be used for filtering can be selected from the Filter By list box.

1.  Click the Scrolling Roster tab. The Scrolling Roster screen displays. Within this screen, a list of the individuals in the database continually scrolls upward. The message list shows how many messages a person has and each person’s current status.

2.  The Auto Refresh counter counts down the number of seconds until the roster is automatically refreshed. Click the Refresh button to manually refresh the roster.

3.  You can stop the scrolling of the screen.

a.  Click the Pause button to pause the roster. The roster stops scrolling.

b.  Click the Scroll button to restart the roster scrolling.

4.  Change the sort column for the roster by clicking one of the Sort By links: Msg Count, Name, or Status.

5.  The records can be limited to display only the records of a specific status type by selecting a status from the Filter By list box. Choose the Show All Records option to include all status types in the roster.
