Scheduling Assignments in the Scheduler View

Updating an On-Call Assignment

An on-call assignment scheduled can be updated in the Scheduler Assignment screen. You can change the individual assigned to the shift, the start and end dates and times, the time zone, and the priority. You can also add or change comments about the shift.

Assigning a Role

From the Role list box, you can select a role that describes the person’s job function. The list of options is derived from the roles assigned to the on-call group.

When assigning a role, be aware that each role can be assigned to only one person during each shift. This ensures, for example, that you don’t schedule more than one person in the “Nurse” role during a shift.

NOTE: This feature is configurable and may not be available in your system.

1.  Access Smart Web.

2.  Choose the On-Call tab.

3.  Choose the Scheduler Assignment tab, and log in if required.

4.  Search for the assignment you want to change. For instructions on how to search for an assignment, please refer to Searching for Current On-Call Assignments for an On-Call Group.

5.  Click on the on-call assignment that should be updated. The background for the selected assignment turns yellow and the Select option for the assignment is selected.

6.  The individual assigned to the shift can be changed.

a.  Highlight the messaging ID or name in the Msg ID or Name field.

b.  Type a new entry over the existing entry or click the List button to choose an on-call group member or search for a non-member. For information about using the List button, please refer to Using the List Button.
