Accessing Smart Web from a Mobile Device

Accessing Smart Web from a Mobile Device

A limited set of Smart Web functionality can be accessed from a wireless, mobile device. The Smart Web directory information and on-call assignments can be accessed and viewed from a mobile device. When accessing directory information, messages can be sent and phone calls made from the mobile device if the appropriate directory information is available. Updates cannot be made to the Smart Center database from the mobile device.

You can also access a Setup option, which enables you to create a default paging message for both numeric and alphanumeric pagers. The Setup option requires cookies support. Availability may vary between different wireless mobile devices.

Information from Smart Web can be viewed from a mobile device in either the xhtml or wml display format. The default is xhtml, which has a more robust interface. A mobile device may be configured to display in wml format, which is a lighter interface, but is also more efficient. The Smart Web application looks the same in both formats.
