Scheduling On-Call Assignments using the Block Scheduler

Reviewing an Instruction Assigned to the On-Call Group

In some cases, an instruction may have been assigned to an on-call group. The instruction can be reviewed in the Block Assignments tab by clicking the Instructions button.

NOTE: This feature is configurable and the Instructions button may not be available on your system.

Instructions can be assigned to an on-call group in Smart Center. Only instructions assigned the SMART WEB instruction type can display in Smart Web. While an on-call group may be assigned more than one instruction with the SMART WEB instruction type, only one SMART WEB instruction displays when you click the Instructions button. Normally, only one instruction of the SMART WEB type should be assigned to an on-call group.

Updating a Smart Web Instruction

The instruction displayed for the on-call group can be updated and the changes saved. Any changes made are also saved to the instruction record in Smart Center. The instruction is changed for every person or on-call group record to which the instruction is also assigned.

Creating a New Smart Web Instruction

If the on-call group is not currently assigned a SMART WEB instruction, an instruction can be entered and saved. When this occurs, a record for the instruction is created in Smart Center and assigned the SMART WEB instruction type. Note that a name is not assigned to the instruction.
