A list of the pagers assigned to the logged-in user can be displayed in the Device Mgmt tab in the Personal Profile screen. If a pager has been enabled for use with Spok Mobile, a Mobile Registration link is available for the pager. You can click the link to access the Spok Mobile registration web site and register the pager.
The Device Mgmt tab displays information about the pagers, such as the display order, pager ID, and type. Spok Mobile registration information is also displayed, such as the current registration status, the device and carrier, and the registration date and time. The Spok Mobile registration fields are blank if the pager is available for registration but has not yet been registered.
Spok Mobile Registration Options
After the device has been registered, updated, or registered, the registration information is updated with the Spok Mobile registration status, the device type and carrier of the paging device, and the date and time on which registration occurred. The registration status options describe the current status of the Spok Mobile registration. Options are:
• PENDING: The PENDING status displays until the system has completed the registration process.
• COMPLETED: The registration process has completed successfully, and the pager can receive Spok Mobile pages.
Mobile Registration Link Availability
A pager is enabled for use with Spok Mobile by selecting the Allow Spok Mobile Registration option in the Pagers form in Smart Center for the pager. The Mobile Registration link displays in the Device Mgmt tab in Smart Web if this option has been selected for the pager.
If the Allow Spok Mobile Registration option was not selected for the pager, the pager still displays in the Device Mgmt tab, but the Mobile Registration link does not display.
When you click the link to register the pager with Spok Mobile, a new browser window opens and the Spok Mobile Registration application is launched.
Configuring the Registration Screen
By default, the registration screen displays a field for the device’s phone number and a field for the email address to which the system communication can be sent. The registration can be configured to display additional fields. For an explanation of the additional fields, please refer to Additional Spok Mobile Registration Fields.
