Paging templates enable you to ensure that specific information is included in the paging screen when sending an alphanumeric page. The templates are created in Smart Center and can be assigned to the listing record for a particular person, function or on-call group. Paging templates that can be used by all pages sent can also be created.
When a page is sent to a person or on-call group that is assigned a paging template, the operator can choose the paging template from a Paging Templates list box that displays in the Compose a Message screen. When a paging template has been selected, the paging screen changes to show the message template fields.
For example, a CALL BACK message template could include a field in which the operator should enter a call back number, and another field for a message. Fields can be specified as required fields, so that the page cannot be sent until information has been entered in the field.
