A status code is used to show the current availability of a person or function. (A status code cannot be assigned to an on-call group.) Some status codes require the individual to have an operable pager assigned before the status code can be assigned and the record saved.
A status code can be changed to a code that more accurately describes the status of a person or a function. If the status codes available do not accurately describe a person’s status you can assign the -1 USER DEFINED status code, which enables you to change the status code label to an accurate description. Note that there are some restrictions when using the -1 status code, as noted in the table below.
The status code options are a static list and cannot be changed by a user. The available status code options are shown in the table below. The list of status codes for your organization may not match the list shown in the table, as status codes specific to your organization may have been added.
NOTE: This feature is configurable and the Status section may not be available on your system.
Overhead Paging Status Codes
The OVERHEAD status codes can be selected when an overhead paging system is available. When this status is assigned and page is sent to that person, the operator speaks the message into the overhead paging system. This paging system can be used even if the person does not have a pager assigned.
When an OVERHEAD status is assigned to a listing record, the On Pager flag is selected by default, even if a pager has not been assigned. This means an individual can be paged even though no pager or only inoperable pagers are assigned. If a page should be sent, the page is stored as a message.

-1 USER DEFINED |
The -1 USER DEFINED status code is used to assign a status that is not described by any of the standard codes. For example, if you have an employee who is at a conference or on a leave of absence, you can choose the -1 status code, and replace the USER DEFINED description in the Listings form with a new description. When this status code is assigned to a record, the person is not allowed to change their own status code from Smart Web or the VRU. An operator must change the code for them. In addition, this code is not played by the VRU when a person calls in to check their status code. All of the status code labels are pre-recorded except for the -1 USER DEFINED status code. |
